The birth of Archery Tag takes us to the United States when in 2011 the brainchild of Archery Tag, John Jackson of Waterloo Indiana founded the game.

The first official Archery Tag game took place in October 2011 as a few hundred law enforcement officers and their families from Indiana engaged in Archery Tag combat at no extra charge .

The game was also promoted by pastor Stuart Kruse during Sunday morning service in preparation for the church’s festival in the fall. As he went about promiting the game to the congregation a couple of other church goers emerged and shot him with a foam tipped arrow.

The first arrow was a direct hit, but the second arrow missed the pastor and nearly took out someone in the front row of benches. The game further increased in popularity as Jackson grasped the opportunity at staging Archery Tag games at local premieres of the Hunger Games film.

What started as a simple idea has now grown into a worldwide archery combat game enjoyed in 67 countries across 6 continents.
